Since 2011, student club Lingua has organized its annual Short Film Festival. On this evening, young creators get a chance to show their short film to a wide audience of students, family and other guests.

Lingua is the departmental club for Language, Literature and Philosophy at the University of Antwerp. Since its founding in 2004, it has established itself as the culture club of the city.

The 11th edition of this festival will take place at Toneelhuis. An exclusive jury of cinephile celebrities will award two prizes at the end of the evening: one in the category 'film enthousiast’ and one in the category 'film school'.

Belonging to the ‘film enthousiast’ category is anyone who has taught themselves to make films, has taken a course related to filmmaking or has studied for a single year at a film school. The other category is specifically for anyone who is currently studying at or has already graduated from an accredited film school such as the RITCS and Narafi.

The audience can also vote for their favourite film. The audience prize, along with the jury prizes, will be awarded on stage at the end of the evening. It will be an evening of fun, friends and above all film!

Please note that the festival will take place in Dutch and shall not be subtitled.
