We were delighted to receive the following news in a letter from Bologna!
EASTAP is a European network of theatre professionals with members in 41 countries: dramaturges, artists, theatre companies and specialized libraries. The purpose of the organization is to bring together researchers and artists in Europe in order to promote their various methods and approaches. The focus is on the link between theory and practice, and the dialogue between artists and scholars.
In 2018, Milo Rau was nominated as associated artist; in 2020, that honour has now been conferred on FC Bergman.
With this nomination, EASTAP declares its admiration for the artistic work of FC Bergman and expresses its interest in the company. EASTAP praises FC Bergman’s involvement, artistic research and productions. The association considers FC Bergman important because of the versatility of its approach and the diversity of its core members, and because of its powerful and intelligent manner of reflecting on modern theatre.
From 28 February to 1 March 2020, FC Bergman will be in Bologna with its production Het land Nod. FC Bergman will give the opening speech for the symposium.
A dossier about the company will be published in the EASTAP magazine, to be put together by Professor of Theatre Studies Luk Van Den Dries, among others.
