In Toon Tellegen’s animal forest, the squirrel, the ant, the elephant and many other animal friends live together in a delicate balance. They take care of each other and drink tea together at the top of a beech tree. One thing is sacred to all animals: birthdays! And even more sacred still: the cake! The theatre never smelled so good, as Benjamin Verdonck and Willy Thomas bake their own creations. Out of 313 short animal stories, they chose 35. Based on an inexhaustible collection of everyday objects used in a non-everyday way, they create a visual world that is equivalent to that of Tellegen with childlike enthusiasm.
