In Linoleum/Speed Abke Haring takes on a dual role: for this production she wrote a beautiful, new theatre script and she plays one of the two parts herself. In the duologue she creates for her opposite number Marlies Heuer and herself: the mutual dependence, the power struggle between two people who are caught in each other's inescapable grip, the impossibility of discussing the situation with each other, the loneliness of it all... Each and every one are themes which pervade Abke Haring's work in general.
For Linoleum/Speed Senjan Jansen made an extraordinary sound decor which envelops the conflict and sets the tone for it at every turn. Both ladies constantly have to measure up to the performance space designed by visual artist Jean Bernard Koeman and this brings out the best in them. Bart Meuleman was responsible for coaching the actors.
