For this show, Görges Ocloo wrote his own script, taking inspiration from Ghanaian Anansi stories, Medea Material by Heiner Müller, The Famished Road by Ben Okri, Duizend Heuvels by Koen Peeters, the documentaries Aileen Wuornos: The Selling of a Serial Killer and The Act of Killing by Joshua Oppenheimer, among others, and not least from
contemporary violence, politics and religion.
Ocloo's Medea is played by a grande dame of the Flemish film world, who with Scarlet Anansi Ocloo is back on stage for the first time in many years: Hilde Van Mieghem.
