Director Suze Milius employs a visual and physical theatrical idiom that focuses on interpersonal behaviour in all of its awkwardness and discomfort. In ALL TOGETHER NOW! she presents a series of deeply human scenes. Each scene depicts the subtle violence that emerges when a person dares to radically break away from a situation. Masks are flung off and reality blurs with fiction in a world gone off the rails in which everyone gradually slips back into harmony.
Like earlier theatre productions by Suze Milius such as EXHIBIT (2015), Zwischen (2016), HUIS (2015-2017) and TALK SHOW (2018), ALL TOGETHER NOW! originates from an artistic desire to understand something that seems repressed and unvoiced and make it intelligible.
The actors Sara De Roo, Patricia Kargbo, Janneke Remmers, Rodrigo Baptista, Gustav Lauesen and Stefan Jakiela unveil a hyper-realistic world in which the causal connection between individual hurt and mutual violence becomes painfully evident. In a series of very different scenes, we see how the actors, sometimes unrecognizably transformed, dare to express hidden truths and desires. They show the inevitability of personal decisions, which betray genuine hurt but at the same time completely ruin what once was so dear to them. ALL TOGETHER NOW! shows how violent a breakup can be.
